This week...

This week, I worked on this a bit. Today I cut the batting and put 2 pieces together for the backing.... I really like it. I helped Bert make these. Still need to make them a good summer PJ length, but they are done but for that.

And I made this swingy, swirly skirt. It is a little stiffer than I thought it would be, but I'll make the next one out of lighter weight cotton. You KNOW I love cotton best...

My assistant laid out the next quilt that needs to be put together this week. I have some applique blocks to finish up tomorrow and then I can sew those blocks all together. I will NOT run out of things to do this week...or for a long time. And no sewing until 4am the day before the gift is due. I'll have one done this week, for my goal and the other will be ready to finish for next week. If you call, I may have to put you on speaker phone, but I'll be glad to chat.

I'm also still figuring on the first Christmas gift I'm knitting and it will need another to go along with... I have yarn to try my first ever sweater for me!! and then there is that quilt for my bed to be quilted.

I'm looking for a good book on prayer...anyone have suggestions?? Either for me alone or for a small group.

Hey, I think I hear my pillow calling. The list for tomorrow keeps getting bigger. I just have a few things that need to be done. Like either plant it tomorrow, or forget it. Front and back. Stop over thinking and just do it!

Two favorite books on prayer - The Power of a Praying Parent by Stormie Omartian and Fasting by Jentzen Franklin. Even though my kids are grown, I still check back to the Praying Parent book.

"Praying God's Word" - Beth Moore...
and did you get a copy of Sarah Young's "Jesus Calling"when you were here last year? (more a daily devotion than specifically on prayer - but a great devotion)

Agree with Sue... love the skirt. Perhaps I should carve some time while i'm up there to come sew with you so you can help me with my mental block of the modification of the pattern... really cute fabric too... even if it is a bit stiff (doesn't look that way in the picture) hopefully it's thick enough to not be see thru...
