Basketball Banquet

2008-2009 Clymer Lady Pirates
Players: Stephanie Gilkinson, Jen Rhodes, Andrea, Lindsey Lictus,Becca Skinner, Sydney Bennink, Mallory Deuink, Hannah Neckers, Tara Bailey
also pictured: Varsity coach Dennis Hinsdale, Assistant/JV coach Scott Neckers, mgr-Brianna Summers, stats-katie Marbach

The food was good. The program rolled along and now we on onto other sports and this basketball season is a pleasant memory to all of us. Next year holds promise, as we only had 2 seniors. Tara will be at Daemen College playing basketball, but she told the girls she will be there for playoffs. They really got along well for 9 teenage girls with that much togetherness. Alex had run out of gas on his way home from Buffalo, so I had to swing over to the Sherman road on the way there. But, he was listening to the Sherman girls' game, so he put it on my radio and we listened and when we got there, we listened in the parking lot at the window of Scott's car to hear Sherman lose the state championship by 3 points...

The end of a good run....

The red patch never looks as good as the blue patch, but hey, it was an awesome run!!! We can be proud of each of the girls and how they played... of course Hannah won't remember it tomorrow... :o) just a little concussion humor there... only 2 seniors, so they will be a force to be reconded with again next year.... WE'LL BE BACK!!!

Watching #32..

As I mentioned yesterday, it was Dan's first game this week. He had a good nite....50% from the foul line....we'll be working on that !!He started the game, played quite a bit, did a good job, not too many fouls... The coach was happy... can anyone see the coach?? oh, yeah, he's down there!!
Unfortunately, this is where Dan spent the last 2-3 minutes of the game!! OOOpps!! A twist of the ankle and the big guy is down. Bring the ice!! No more games until next week, so we'll have to see what happens... but he played well, as did Andrew... keep watchin' out for 32!!

chick-a-dee-dee-dee

Trying to catch the chickadee, junko and nuthatch on the feeder, but couldn't quite do it. Albert bought this at Michaels and painted it this fall at Grandma Mona's house, so we'd have a new feeder. The big one is having trouble these days, so we have 3 smaller ones out. I don't feed the birds until it is snowy, so they are happy to get to the banquet!! It was snowing a little bit ago, those big, floaty flakes, that make you want to stick your tongue out and catch a few...
now, hours later, it is very clear, and probably quite cold, but my home indoor/outdoor termo was on the blink, so I took mine home from here. Now they both work and I need to remember to bring one back, so that I know how cold I will be when I go home!! Going to Erie tonight to find some OH, SO AWESOME basketball shoes for Dan... Andrea got her's but she left them in the truck last night and when I asked her how they were, she said they were not the ones they wanted. Free shoes, guess you can't sneeze at that...Thanks, Jehu!! She will deny that she has been a bit cranky with her lack of sleep and too much running, but don't stick your fingers inside her cage!! Dan spent a lot of last weekend sleeping on the couch. I guess I should have, too. Darlene, you and me, too!! Nolan and Andrea can skip naps together!!
