need to write...

Today was a busy day at work.  We do appointments from 8:30-11:45 with our vets.  We have crazy cats, dogs that never bite and all kinds of questions and ailments.  Well, instead of ordering our lunch at 11:30, it got busy and didn't get ordered until noon.  They told me it would be 10 minutes or so.  20+ minutes later I went out the door for pick-up duty.  It was Pearl Harbor Day, December 7th, and I went out the door in my long sleeve shirt and no coat.  I wasn't wearing snow boots, nor was there any snow in the air.  Hard to believe that it's the countdown to Christmas with no snow. Trying hard to get that holiday feelin' when I hear the roar of a rough lookin' pick up truck at the corner.  It stops at the blinker, then comes over past me. Dull black paint job...reminding me of the boys' project in Ag class one year when they painted Shawn's truck John Deere green and yellow with brushes.  The finish was way too rough to be sprayed on...anyway... I turn as the truck roars by, and watch it go...hanging out of the back is their tree...just purchased from my friends at Neckers Company.  Headed for home and decorating the house.  Home to make some people happy and to get them thinking about Christmas.  I guess it's about time.  Enjoy December.  Even when the snow is not here....

Yes, it is difficult to get that feeling without the snow! I hope you and your family have a great Christmas.

I'm knitting slippers for a women's shelter to use up leftover yarn. It's called the Pink Slipper project. Julie wants to learn to knit; I may get her involved in this project.
