This is what's going on in my sewing room...shhhh it's a surprise!

I've been busy trying to be a creative gift giver!!  My first one is for a wedding gift.
It's sort of a hard one to get a picture of.  I saw someone else blog about a quilt like this and she called it her oatmeal quilt, so I'm sticking with that name.  It is all cream, off white, light tans.  Wasn't sure I was going to like it, but as it went along, I liked it more and more.  I had a friend quilt it on her long arm and now I'm praying the USPS comes through and delivers it to the happy bride and groom.

The other one is the only graduation quilt I had to make this year, and since he didn't have a party, there was no deadline, so I made one of my own.  Yep, I can be a bit of a procrastinator, so I pieced it all by last weekend, and then started quilting it on my new JUKI,   Just straight lines, but I'm happy with it.
Dan and Lee played football and basketball together, so those are Lee's numbers for 4 years...they watched a lot of Transformers, over and over and over!!  But my 2 favorite blocks ....

Lee was not a real confident driver, but he took driver's ed with Dan and then he passed his test, and he found an old white truck to buy, to give him that independence that every young boy craves.... only his truck slid into a tree and that was the end.  Dan loves this block and laughed and laughed when he saw it.  I hope it's OK with Lee  :o)

The other one is one I showed before.  Since Lee was without wheels, he and Dan continued to ride to school and back most of the year.  Dan is on the right - notice he's a bit taller than Lee.  Lee is on the left and he has a beard.  He's always been a pretty hairy kid, but he's so darn cute, and we like him, so it all fine.

Here they are prom night.  Didn't I do a good job capturing their likeness???
