Yarn Along 2!

Back at it again with the Yarn Along!  with Ginny.... I'm a little late, but going with it anyway...
"~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs. I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~"  Hop over to the links and then click on any link there and see what is happening...

I haven't done much knitting this week, but it is sort of a finishing week...The background of the picture is something I needed to finish to get to my long arm lady this week, so that got checked off!  The yarn on top of it is a shawl that I started before I went to my wedding.  I knitted on it all the way there, but I'm just not sure I love it enough to finish.  I'm giving serious consideration to just unravelling it and finding something else to do with it.  How do you decide??  I think I could easily find something I like better...This has a double YO and it is so loopy, that just moving in and out of the bag makes big snags that can easily be wiggled back into shape, but really do I want to adjust the snags every time I drape it across my body??  I think I might want something that is just a little less holey, in case I really do need to keep myself warm.  Guess I'll leave it a little longer and just move to something else for awhile.

I've finished The First Four Years, which is the final Little House book.  They explain that it was not written for printing by Laura, they just picked up her work notebook and edited it themselves, so it is a bit different style.  Next up is The Wilder Life, that I picked up shortly after I started back on the series, but decided to finish the 9 books before reading this one.  Also showing is the Love & Respect book that our Table of 8 group has been working on.  We did 13 chapters last month and Saturday we have to have the next 13 chapters read and ready to chat on.  I'm good on that one.

So tell me, what have YOU been working on this week???

Reading "Beautiful Outlaw" by John Eldredge. Subtitle is "Experiencing the playful, disruptive, extravagant personality of Jesus". Great read.
Handwork right now is STILL my crochet sampler.... may one day be a throw, or it may be a throw! I did both a throw and a baby blanket in the open, loopy stitch ~ hated the throw because something was always getting caught in it... and ripped out the baby blanket when I realized it was going to be the same battle.... just sayin~

(Would love to borrow Love and Respect when you are done)

I must pick up The Wilder Years. I prefer childrens books over adults, infact I think that the children books have better stories.
Keep on knitting

It looks lovely, but I can understand your frustration with the open stitch pattern. I would probably just rip it and start fresh with a new pattern.

I have 2 balls of yarn where a partial shawl used to be. Thanks for the courage to just rip and roll and start over. Different pattern. The joy of knitting! I've not done anything that can't be undone!!
