Just another day in paradise....

yep, that's me. Singing some Eagles songs and whoever else pops up on BOB FM. I'm not picky and when you're tired, it doesn't even matter if you get the words right.

I'm in a countdown. I know it sounds like a broken record, but tax season is coming to an end. It's really too bad that it is so crazy. I enjoy many parts of it, but this year, some parts have just been a blurr. I like seeing the people and chatting and catching up...some I really only see at tax season, maybe a drop off and a pick up, some all at once and then not until next year.

Not so many today. I was the early one to Erie and I couldn't quite get the engines fired up. But I processed a few returns, made phone calls, answered some calls and questions, explained some returns that were picked up, and then because I had driven separately, I didn't leave with Scott. I stayed a little longer to finish one I was working on. I was thinking about the lady that I only know because of her tax return. I think she looks sad. She's probably retiring age. She has a husband. She doesn't seem disagreeable when she comes in. There are plenty of those people in the world. She just seems like the kind of person I'd give a flower to if I had one...maybe even a hug. There are plenty of THOSE people in the world, too. I wonder how many people I passed today that really would have rather had a hug than anything else today... How many people will be alone tomorrow, while I sit down at my mom's table with my mom & dad, my brother and sister and their families, the kids that will be around for lunch??? Makes you say a little prayer of thanks for all of the blessings you have in your life...all the people you love, who love you.... all of the people you smile and laugh with.... the riches of life...

So, as you sit down at your Sunday table, just a little prayer for those people that we meet along the way in our life. Those who we might only see once a year, or once a lifetime. Smile at everyone you meet and make their day a little brighter.

I had dinner this week, with a highschool friend who was in town from Chicago with her kids. They'd already sent the hubby home on a plane, but they needed to get their supply of Smith's hotdogs, a Smith's ham for Easter, some of their favorite pie, fish and other things that Laurie misses from her old stomping ground. Eating at PineJunction on a weeknight is not a rushed thing. There are plenty of table at this time of year, so we were able to spend 2 hours eating and visiting and laughing. It's fun to spend a couple of hours with people out of your normal circle. It was so much fun that Laurie has already planned our next meal on August 10, when she's back in town again!! Already wrote it on my calendar!! Looking forward to another good visit.

Happy, Hoppy Easter to you all!!

Isn't it just lovely to spend a dinner with someone out of your every day interactions? I just had dinner last night with a college pal and it was so wonderful. Glad you enjoyed your visit.
