A pause...

It is now, a pause in our sports calendar. I'm sure baseball and golf will start sooner than I am ready for, but last night, basketball ended here.
It was a tough game and we had a less than wonderful first quarter that we worked to dig out of for the rest of the game. The score was doable at half time. We came back out and worked hard and even led by a point or two in the second half, but sometimes you just play a team that doesn't miss enough shots and too many of yours don't go in. Or they make 3's and you make 2's and pretty soon the gap is there...
But as a mom, I'll say that I think my kid did a good job...don't all parents think that?? He played hard, he played clean and I think he will spend the weekend sleeping.
On the other hand, I'm working right now, of course, and I will spend a lot of time doing what I do with the copy machine and my friend the stapler, and squeeze in that Sunday School lesson on Day one of Deborah, and also the BSI pages for this week need finished, and I need to review the skit and see if it is going to work tomorrow and grab some props for that and remember those BSI vests and highlight the scripts and stop on my way home from here for one of the props and to FINALLY get to my Borders store, that is closing (sniff, sniff). I'll miss it, so I'm going to try to get a large book fix that will last me until I can get cozy in the local Barnes and Nobles...or somewhere else. I'm a book-lovers, so this will be like a binge...I'll try to hold myself back, but I understand my friends have already been there twice and Saturday should be extra nuts, but hey, it's the end of an era, so I need to go....but the dog is out of food and my SD card has mysteriously dropped into someone else's camera, so I want to pick up another of those. They are so much cheaper than they were when I first bought the 128...it is tiny now...but it was an awesome improvement over a roll of 24 or 36 prints of 35mm. ...the things our kids will never know...8tracks, rotary phones and party lines, school dances with full gyms and live bands...
Oh!! I sense a time of reflection...what things do you remember that your kids will never know?? Comment me, please!! I am lonely here in blogland...

Sorry I have been MIA--life is kind of flatlining me lately--

Aw shucks, but ya can't win 'em all, right? And it sounds like your boy acquitted himself well.

I'm sorry that Borders is closing, too.

I'm thinking on what I what my kids will never know, and I'm stumped! Maybe it's too early in the morning, but I'm going to think on this for quite a while.

I do have to say I think of home delivery of milk. There was a NEDCO milk box nailed to the house when we bought it. I will never remove it unless we move!
