getting ready...

In church on Sunday, we needed to pose some girls for a picture, so we grabbed 3 from the Little Lambs class. The one in the middle is the Pharoah's daughter. They are in the process of finding Moses floating in the river in a basket. Unfortunately, the Pharoah's daughter had a rough night last night and she didn't get a Superbowl ring to go with her uniform. But she's sweet and young and there's always next year!! My friend has been turning the kids' photos into coloring book pages with her software and we are putting them in every week for our Bible Reading project that starts next week at church. The first week we will study Joseph...Week 2 and 3 are both Moses. There's so much written about Moses, that we couldn't squish him into just 1 week. We have Bible Reading, verses, puzzle pages, coloring pages, background info, and extra points for watching, reading, listening to Christian stuff. It's a spin off on a Diet game that my friend did at her school, with points awarded for all the stuff you're doing right! Here's hoping that we have success. A few years ago, we read through the Bible In A Year and had 20 people complete the project, with question pages and rewards scattered throughout. It was fun, but a lot, so we've tried to break it into some smaller reading projects for the past 2 years and do a little more focus...
This year we have 10 weeks where we chose Bible stories from our younger years and just dig into them a little deeper...some background to understand how they got here...kids and parents all involved. I'll let you know how it goes.
