UB

My eyes are so droopy, but I wanted to drop in a minute to say thank you to all the people in the world who keep me safe. I was to be at a church meeting at 6 tonight, and we were getting ready to go out the door when the phone rang. It was my mom who had been watching the Buffalo news, telling me that they had the UB Library in lockdown because there was a gunman spotted. I have a son at UB...his best study place is the Library at UB. I called then texted him, then on the way to the church, where I have no cell signal, I called his dad to try to get ahold of him. Of course I cried, too. I'm a MOTHER, after all. My friends at the meeting called someone else to get the latest news report and there were no reports of shots fired, the building was in lockdown and cameras were being studied. As I drove home, I came to that magical place where the signal comes back and I heard music to my ears. There was a text "I'm in class" and then a message from his dad, and another from Alex, that he and his girlfriend were both safe and sound. I called him a bit later, and he said that he had been studying in the Library right before this class. As he left the Library, he saw one police car pull up, but he didn't know anything until closer to the end of class. As of that time, no one had found a shooter or gun and they wondered how reliable the report had been. But for a mom, it doesn't matter. All that matters is that he is safe. Thanks, God, for catching my tears, holding my hand and helping me breathe. It's hard when your kids grow up.

A simliar situation happened about two years ago at my high school. Everyone were scared out of their wits. Until nothing happened for about two hours. The SWAT team was there. And they scared teh heck out of one of the gym teachers and the coke delivery guy they came rushing into the fitness center. The whole thing seemed that it was a hoax.
I know this might be hard, but please do not call or text your child if you know they're in this situation. They are suppose to be hiding and if a cell phone rings it might blow their cover.
I'm glad everyone's alright. HUGS!!!! ♥
