Happy Halloween'd - AWESOME

I got my trick or treats early today. I received an email this week passed along 2 times, that originated at the computer of the lady who used to have a yarn shop in Findley Lake. Yes, Carmen at Calico Cat Yarns. She and her husband also have Pie In the Sky in Erie, Pa. and when her obligations at the restaurants became too great to have the yarn shop in Findley Lake, she packed it up and took it to the room next to Pie in The Sky. Over time she has become busier, so the email announced that she would be selling her inventory at 50% yarn, needles, books, etc. So I forwarded it to my Aunt Janice in Erie and she responded back that she would be there. I had to co-ordinate the morning with Bert's bowling and the dog with no food problem, but after delievering the boy and delivering the chow, I was off to Erie with my Mapquest in hand... my kid laughs at me, but it works. And when I walked in the store, who should I see, along with a bunch of strangers?? JANICE! Yep, I didn't know when she would arrive, but we were there together and we stayed past the crowd and ended up with the stuff mostly to ourselves at the end, and Chris, another Findley Laker who came in after me, but while the masses were still taking up lots of room....
What I got...

1)instructions, needles and some yarn to make an AWESOME felted vest. Now, hold me accountable for this Sue Henry, although I may have to wait until that senior year scrapbook is completed...then I'm coming to you for help. So I think that is in Maroon,

2)and then I got a bunch of gold, too...because our school colors are maroon and gold, so my knitting friend can easily go through tons of yarn. I was actually thinking of doing a maroon and gold sweater, but I'm still hesitating on the whole issue of finding the idiot proof pattern for a beginner... but that could be AWESOME, too!

3) organic cotton yarn to do an AWESOME dishcloth or 2

4) yarn to make a pair of WICKED AWESOME felted slippers in red & green - sort of santa shoes ;o)

5) 4 skeins of sport weight because Anna makes the AWESOMEST headband/earwarmers and this is what they take.

6)2 more pair of wooden needles and they are made by Fiddlesticks and I just thought that was mostly AWESOME, so I got some!

7) some really neat stitch markers..i've always just used the plastic ones or yarn pieces. By the end of winter, these 5 may all be in the bottom of my chair, buried deeper than the cushions. But for now they look AWESOME!

8) AND for the crossing off of something from my bucket list, alpaca fluff to knit a scarf... it is kind of denim and lime and it will be totally AWESOME!!

SO then I headed to Beacon Christian bookstore for some Bert's Bday things....shh...don't tell him.

Then to old Navy, where I looked and did not find one thing, but did I find something else?? you'll have to wait to see...

Then over to Borders and picked up my new planner/calendar by timemine. I love these. This is my 3rd or fourth one and I haven't lost or trashed one yet, which is HUGE for me! And it looks like this...and even better...I'm a member, so I had an email coupon for 40% off!! IS THAT AWESOME OR WHAT!!! and maybe just one more thing...

Then it was up to Wallymart...although I really didn't want to go there, I was missing an important part of Halloween!! NO PUMPKIN.. and the usual places were all out,,, and at Walmart, my SS class will be glad to hear that they DID have DOVE chocolate...you know this Mary/Martha book is just taking alot out of us. We need fortification to get us through! Then on over to the other side, where no live pumpkins could be seen, but I took my re-usable grocery bag into the Giant Eagle and then laughed at checkout when I had well over $125 worth of groceries. NEVER SHOP WHEN YOU ARE HUNGRY!!

Now I'm just here waiting for the camo-kid to appear ready to go...

Have fun...thinking of Jenna and hoping her weather is better than here...

Don't you love getting a good deal? (I think the sweater in the school colors sounds like a really neat idea.)

Love the family time planner, too.

Oh my gosh! Truer words have never been spoken (or typed). "Never shop when you're hungry."
And that is the COOLEST planner, ever - I may need to spend a few bucks on one myself!
