TGIF

Some days it is just too nice NOT to walk the dog in the morning... even when Mary is not here to guilt me into it....

I truly enjoy living on the Shadyside of the lake. The morning is a little fuzzy in this pic, but I like walking through the trees. Notice my faithful companion running ahead. When the summer people and their traffic is(are) gone, Ernie can go off the leash and manages to stay pretty close. We must watch a couple of houses, because after a winter attack a few years back, he will run from most dogs. But this time of year, it is mostly Big Black dog, who is real old and slow, and Laker, who I wouldn't trust, who are most apt to be out and about. At those times, I leash him for a bit. Our usual morning walk is 2m. Sometimes we have lots of energy and go for the 4m trip. Trying to get to Ripley earlier, so not doing as many of those 4m on weekday a.m.'s.

A black dog on a black road is not that easy to see... but here he is. Border collie and faithful to my husband. If DH is around and I tell Ernie to do something, he will look at his boss to see if he really HAS to do it!?!? Of course the morning walk is a no brainer to him... the only time he picks me first! It seemed the fall leaf season was short lived this year, but I'm sure some of that is just the hurrier I go, the behinder I get.... Too much stuff gettin' jammed in too little time...
Thanks for the walk, Ernie and for being there for me in the mornings...

Cute dog! You are really awesome to get up and go walking at that hour. I really struggle to just get up and get my kids ready for school. Wow--Daniel looks huge--how tall is he??!! He really looks older than 14!

I put the kids on the bus and usually 3 days a week a friend shows up to walk with me. If you read my earlier posts, you will find that I trained this summer to do the BC 3day in Cleveland with a different friend. You walk 20 miles a day for 3 days in a row and it was 90+ each day. It was awesome and I raised $4400 for Breast Cancer, but it took a lot of my summer.. and they tell you to keep hydrated with water and sports drink and salty snacks and sugar and I was hoping to take off some poundage, but it was not to be!! Dan was a big kid always.. he is now 6'1" and somewhere over 200 lbs. Bigger than Alex who is 19 1/2. He is still my momma's boy.
