Yarn Along - Dec flurry!!

Here it is already December!  Where did the days, the months, the year go??  Someone told me life is like toilet paper, the closer you get toward the end, the faster is goes.... Remember when every day just crawled by?   Anyway, it's time to think about Yarning Along with Ginny at Small Things...

"~ Two of my favorite things are knitting and reading, and the evidence of this often shows up in my photographs.  I love seeing what other people are knitting and reading as well. So, what are you knitting or crocheting right now? What are you reading? Take a photo and share it either on your blog or on Flickr. Leave a link below to share your photo with the rest of us! ~"

So, let's see what we have going at my house....
The reading has switched to Christmas.  I did finish A Solitary Blue, and also picked up and read through Sharon Creech's The Boy On The Porch.  I really liked both of those.  It's one of my weaknesses, that age of literature.  When my kids were younger, I'd read all of Sharon Creech's books.  She kept writing and I have some catching up to do.

Once Upon a Christmas by Lauraine SnellingI have loaded about 3 Christmas titles on my Kindle, I have this Christmas Cookie one in my bag and there are two more at home on the kitchen counter that I brought home from the Library- one is Debbie Macomber and the other Louraine Snelling.  Just enough to get me through the holly, jolly season...

And so here is my current knitting project...a cowl...very simple...mindless knitting.  I just did a K2P2 for 8 or 10 rows, then started knitting...when I get ready, I'll just K2P2 for 8 or 10 rows and bind off.   I have a Christmas that wasn't really going to include homemade gifts much, but I find myself missing that constructing and crafting part of the season...ok, not so much the part where I am crazy behind on too many things, but I'm going to crave the feeling of the yarn slipping between my fingers and winding through my stress..may as well put that to good use.  I'm using a ball of yarn from Longmeadow Farm and I really like the look and feel of this stuff.  I finished the Bandana Cowl and I like the way that turned out.  I decreased twice then decided I liked the look of a looser cowl, so I stopped decreasing and just knitted on.  I think someone will be wearing that in January.
So take a minute and slip on over to see what others are working on and reading...

oh I so agree with you about time going so quickly! This year especially, I feel like I didn't get to appreciate October, then November. I'm trying to savor December. The book looks interesting and Love your Knitting :)
