Turning 50....

My hubby, knowing that a surprise party would NOT make me joyful, asked how I wanted to celebrate turning 50... I said let's just get some friends together and eat and visit. Who would have imagined, they'd bring gifts...all of them kind, too!! Fancy socks announcing that I am 50!! Wine...

I know they don't look excited, but we are just enjoying being together and visiting and we are deep in conversations...

We met at Pine Junction, which is close and friendly and they have this neat outdoor pavilion that has side curtains for winter protection, but with the above average spring temps we've been having, and some propane heaters, we were able to be out there and really, so toasty. And it was our own space, so we didn't have to worry about hanging around for a long time, so we did! Here are the owners, Lonnie and Shirlee...talking with Brenda & Dave and Kathy & Barry, and Deb.

I got some great gifts, but would you look at these RED BOOTS!!! I used to tease Libby when she was looking for horse stuff , check and see if they have red boots, 'cuz I'm going to have a pair some day and when they wondered what to get for my birthday, Libby said, Well she wants RED BOOTS!! Thanks Libby!!

And Willowe was a little excited, so the focus wasn't kicking in very well, but here is Mary Ford admiring another great gift!My Scrap & Sew girls, along with a few others, made blocks for a friend quilt and Willowe put it all together and it is great and I LOVE my friends!! They ARE the spice of my life!!

Renee is pointing out some things as we check it out...

I had a wonderful party and a really great birthday and you know, turning 50 isn't as scary as it seems from the outside.... It's a pretty good place to be!
