Uncle D...

Today I spent several hours at Hamot Medical Center. Why would you do that when it is tax season and your house is messy and a whole bunch of other excuses....Because I got the call. The ambulance is taking your brother to the hospital. Someone rear-ended him while he was working. Not serious... My brother works for the town. There are a number of reasons that he could have been playing in the road... This time, he was sweeping the dirt off. On top of a John Deere tractor with a cab, and flashing lights, he was trying to sweep winter off one of their roads. Unfortunately, the lady who hit him never saw him. He was going about 12 mph. In a New York Minute he was going much faster. There were no skid marks. She wasn't kidding, she never did see him. But she felt him when her Trailblazer got rearranged. She gave him a pretty good push. He never saw her coming....said he almost wishes there was a camera so he knew what happened. He had a quick, wild ride, and ended up pushed through the ditch . He got out and turned around and didn't want to go back to the car that hit him...it looked much worse for the ride...but he did. A few ambulances later, he was in the ER where he got checked over real good...no stitches to the cut in the back of his head....a sonogram to his side...checked over a little more...a tetanus shot for good luck... a few more tests and we were on our way back home. He needed a shower REAL BAD!! Hydraulic fluid mixed with plenty of road dust gave him a rough look. Tomorrow, he will ache... he'll feel every bump and bruise and jerk that he had in his quick ride today...but the lap belt kept him in the cab and in the seat, which is bent and twisted a bit. Tonight, we thank God for miracles, big and small, that we see every day.

I'm thankful he is ok when things could have been worse.

Glad he's okay. With the car taking such a beating, it's clear someone was looking out for him...

Glad to hear LD's ok. God is good. reminded me of when Todd was rear ended on the tractor in high school. He was very blessed and lucky then too.
