Thanks, Jocie....

I started this and then didn't have time to write, so I just pushed PUBLISH.
My friend Jocie sent me a wonderful surprise in the mail. She had tickets to Chautauqua Suites last Saturday night for the production of Family Life Network's Dinner Theatre "I'll Be Home For Christmas" and she couldn't go, so I got the tickets. Not only did she have 2 tickets, they were front row, center table. What a wonderful gift. Her plans changed a bit, and I offered the tickets back, but she said NO, GO!! So we did.
We sat at a table of 8 with 6 strangers...in a short while we discovered that one in each of 2 couples had attended the same high school as we did. If you know anything about our town and our school, it is kind of funny, because my graduating class was 60 kids and now they are even smaller. But in my defense, the woman across from us was 11 years behind me in school. I did know of her family, but did not know them, and the guy to my right lived in the little town where we do and is trying to move back to his family home there.
But back to the evening's event....
The food was a buffet and it was very, very good. The whole meal was served before the play. Desserts were divine...almost a bad start to watching a play with such a full belly,,,would I get sleepy? Which is NOT good at that location in a theatre. NOT A CHANCE! They will do this production 2 nights in each location, and we were night #2. It was SO GOOD!! The actors and actresses were great...no fumbling lines or missed cues. The music was awesome, as the play is set around Pearl Harbor Day, so we're talking about Big Band music. The radio performers are behind the backdrop curtain, where they light up when the radio is "ON". I went to church the next day and told my whole Sunday School class how great it was and they should all get tickets next year. Our friends from Sherman Baptist Church had a group there and they were around table 24, but they were just 3 tables back from us. This was so worth it. It was the kind of week where I'd just like to put on flannel and climb under a blanket with a movie and maybe some knitting, but I'm SO GLAD I left the house!! I should have taken more tissues, it was that good.
I'd like to go on and on, but the vet clinic is expecting me to arrive on time, and I have to drop some stuff at church for tonight, so I'd better shake a leg and get movin'... it's our SS class girls' fun night, so I have lots of junk treasure to unload...
Have a great day...I hope I don't blow away on the way there!!
