Welcome to our Table of 8....

We are a group of church friends who get together once a month. One couple hosts and provides the main course, and the rest of us are dessert and side dish people. Mark & Willowe?!?!
Who let those 2 sit beside each other...they are posing for a FACEBOOK picture....
Hey, this is your house...Hi, Mugsy & Kathy!!
Thanks for starting the crockpot!! You are the man!!
Too Close !! I am TOO CLOSE!! No more flashing camera, wife!! I'm BLIND!
We pick a book to read and after we eat, we have a discussion...Scooter tends to be an observer at the beginning... But jumps right in later on...

I was the one who didn't get my reading done...Bad ME! This month's was Max Lucado's FEARLESS. We are doing 3 chapters a month on this one. Pretty good stuff. One was fears about our children.
Cheryl has some fears...I think she is a bit afraid of Kathy!!
What's that?? You want to come, too?? Sorry. As you can see from the name, it is TABLE OF 8, not 10 or 12. Most people can find that many chairs to put around their table and that many seats in the living room later. I really AM sorry, because this getting together stuff and discussing and researching is good fuel for the spirit. Might I suggest that you start your own, Table of 8. Don't have time?? Neither do we...between us we have 11 kids ranging in age from 20-4. We all work and are involved in other activities, but we have discovered that it is important to make the effort to get together. And it is important to fellowship together. And we have good, sometimes passionate, discussions. But it is BIO. See ya later.

I like this idea!

I like this idea, too. We need to do something organized like that, because we get too caught up in all the craziness to just relax and talk about the "real stuff" to friends.

Thanks for the tip!

It is a great group and I am so blessed to have you all in my life. Between the laughing and the yelling we do get refueled. Thank you for refueling my spirit!! Willowe

This really is a great idea. At the library we meet once a month for our women's book club and we have made some wonderful friendships over the years. We don't plan a meal, but that sounds great too. Maybe I could try it with a couples group in the fall. Thanks for the "table of 8" idea.
